Veeam, a leader in cloud backup services and data management, aimed to increase brand awareness for its Microsoft 365 backup solutions under the Veeam Data Cloud brand. As businesses increasingly rely on cloud solutions, ensuring reliable and secure backup for critical data has become more important than ever. Veeam recognized this trend and wanted to highlight the importance of Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) for Microsoft 365 users, ensuring that companies had a robust safety net for their data.

The primary goal was to design a campaign that would stand out in a crowded market, effectively communicate Veeam’s unique value proposition, and provide flexibility for Veeam’s internal team to scale the campaign across different regions and platforms. The campaign also needed to maintain a consistent brand identity and convey key messages that aligned with Veeam’s mission of providing innovative data protection solutions.

Our Mission

Our mission was to develop a creative campaign that not only boosted Veeam’s brand presence but also highlighted the essential role of its cloud backup solutions for Microsoft 365 users. To achieve this, we needed to create a compelling visual identity and messaging that would resonate with the target audience while being adaptable enough to be deployed across multiple platforms.  

At the heart of the campaign was the need to communicate Veeam’s expertise in cloud data protection and BaaS solutions. We aimed to unify all campaign elements—across social media, digital banners, videos, and live events—under a cohesive message that could enhance Veeam’s presence in the competitive backup solutions market.

Approach

Understanding the competitive landscape, we knew we had to craft a concept that stood out and clearly communicated the benefits of Veeam’s Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions. We developed the creative concept around the tagline "Turn Up The BaaS," a playful but impactful twist on the industry term Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS). This tagline conveyed both the service offering and the idea of amplifying protection and security for Microsoft 365 data.

We designed a bold and dynamic visual identity for the campaign that would stand out across digital platforms, capturing attention on social media and other digital touchpoints. From social media cards and banners to videos and roundtable event materials, every deliverable was centered around the “Turn Up The BaaS” concept. This consistent visual language ensured that Veeam’s messaging was clear, recognizable, and memorable.

A critical aspect of the campaign’s success was its flexibility. We provided Veeam’s team with fully editable working files, allowing them to customize content easily for different regions and platforms without losing the core visual and messaging consistency. This adaptability ensured the campaign could be scaled globally while still meeting the specific needs of regional markets.

The tagline “Turn Up The BaaS” was not just limited to digital assets—it extended to in-person events such as roundtable user discussions, providing a consistent and seamless brand experience across all touchpoints. This integration of the campaign across both digital and live environments reinforced the message and boosted brand recall.

WHAT WE ACHIEVED 

The campaign delivered meaningful results. The social media campaign alone generated 27,228 impressions across 53 posts, with 3,604 engagements and 2,929 click-throughs to Veeam’s website. These metrics demonstrated strong interest and engagement with the Microsoft 365 backup solutions being promoted.

Initially launched as a regional campaign focused on the Asia-Pacific and Japan (APJ)market, the success of "Turn Up The BaaS" quickly led to its expansion into a global campaign. After two successful quarters, the campaign continued to run globally, expanding Veeam’s brand presence and reinforcing its position as a leader in cloud backup and data protection solutions.

The adaptability of the campaign assets also allowed Veeam to continue running the campaign smoothly, with the ability to customize content for different platforms and regions as needed. This flexibility helped maintain a consistent message while meeting the unique needs of each target market.

In addition to impressive metrics, the campaign achieved something more long-lasting: it provided Veeam with a scalable and flexible solution that empowered their internal teams to sustain the campaign’s momentum. The unified visual identity and adaptable assets allowed Veeam to maintain brand consistency and continue promoting its Microsoft 365 backup solutions in a competitive space.

By crafting a campaign that resonated both visually and conceptually, we helped Veeam "Turn Up The BaaS" and increase brand awareness for their critical cloud data protection services.
